Strength WOD

As you’re signing up for class, you’ll notice that our 4:30pm timeslot is now a “Strength WOD”.  We played around with making it an Open Gym time for a few weeks, and that worked out well for a lot of folks, but there are others that are interested in a focused Strength session followed by a CrossFit-style WOD.
The Strength WOD program will be familiar to those of you who have attended the 4pm and 4:30pm classes before:
4:30pm – Warmup, mobilize, and review the workouts as a team
4:40pm – Strength workout, using powerlifting (squats, deadlifts, presses) and Olympic weightlifting techniques (Clean and Jerk, Snatch)
5:00pm – CrossFit workout, focused on building Work Capacity (ability to do more work in less time), and Stamina (ability to maintain Strength for a long period of time)
5:20pm – Cool down and work on recovery so you can come back strong next time!
This class is great for teen athletes that are looking to build strength for the upcoming season, and experienced athletes that want to maintain a consistent weightlifting program as well as build their power and speed.
