Today we drilled into the Clean by practicing the first movement of bringing the weight from the ground to your waist – the Deadlift.  And what do you do to strengthen the deadlift?  Well, go heavy!  Andy and Kenny got 395 lbs x 5, and there were alot of first time big lifts happening all around the gym, including Athena picking up 95 lbs for the first time!
On Tuesday we’ll move on to practice the second major movement in the Clean – the High Pull.  We’ll work the High Pull from the narrow and wide (sumo) stance, and then hit them hard in a Hero WOD.  Let’s get some work done!
Five rounds for time of:
Run 400M
10 Burpee Box Jumps
95-lb Sumo Deadlift High Pull, 10 reps
95-lb Thruster, 10 reps
Rest 1 min
