Freakin’ awesome work this week on the Open WOD 13.1!  Not everyone is a registered participant, but everyone that took on that nasty workout gave it their all!  I’m so proud of all of you guys for that huge effort, and I found out a bit about myself too – that I can always push a little bit harder, as evidenced by Kenny and I repeating the workout on Sunday and both of us tacking on 10+ reps.  My resolution (you can make those anytime, right?) is to reach that boiling point a lot more often in conditioning WODs, so that I get much more comfortable with the muscle burn and exhausted breath that shows up very quickly when you’re going 100% for a long time.  To add to that, I also want to make sure I stay out of the leaned-over “I’m tired” position, because as soon as I get there, I stay there for much longer than necessary.  Hold me to it when we work out together!
Anyone else learn anything on Friday that they can use through the rest of the Open?  Post it to Comments!

GoRuck Challenge Baltimore, November 2012

OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeoning of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
