I didn’t get any training in this weekend due to being stupid last Tuesday and climbing rope without long pants or socks.  Dumb move and I paid for it with an infected freaking gash in my leg.  Lesson learned – even if you screw up and don’t gear up appropriately for your workout, don’t compound the problem.  Change the workout, and blast through it even harder.
On Monday we’ll work on the Snatch technique, focusing especially on Squat Snatches, meaning that you pull the weight from the ground and catch in in a full overhead squat.  Start with a PVC, and move up as you perfect it.

Skillwork:  Squat Snatch 5-5-3-3-1-1
Work Capacity:
5 rounds (not for time):
– 25 Double-Unders
– 1 Squat Snatch @ 75% of 1RM
Make one Snatch attempt per round, count even misses as a rep and move on.  Your score is your number of successful lifts.

  1. Lots of awesome progress on the Squat Snatch today! I know they can be frustrating and you want to get them perfect, but make sure you stay positive and accept the success of a good lift, even if there are still little points to work on. Keep snatching!
On another note, Matis had a huge new PR on the Overhead Squat at 200 lbs! He’s got it on video – post that stuff to the Facebook page, dude!
